Ocean artUp running at full speed
With 18 months into the project, Ocean artUp is now running at full speed. Starting with a pilot study in 2017 focusing on the base of the food web, we are presently preparing for a full scale 10-weeks KOSMOS experiment off Gran Canary from October to December this year. Our 2018 campaign will cover the entire pelagic food web from bacteria and phytoplankton to small pelagic fish. It’s scientific focus will be on quantifying trophic transfer efficiency and export efficiency in relation to upwelling intensity. With the start of this experiment we will fill this blog with life.
